I wish I had an artistic side, I could make a chest or a welsh dresser but anything like your wood spirit is way out of my league, great piece of work, keep it up

And do you just use the 3 knives in the picture or do you have some others hidding away?

it's funny how I look at tony's pictures in awe, then go on you tube to look at carving with a chainsaw, and think how easy it looks, then when at our woods and giving it a try, it ends up looking like a 5 year old did it, hopefully the brambles will grow over that tree:ashamed:

And do you just use the 3 knives in the picture or do you have some others hidding away?I do have a flexcut knife and a set of small caving chisels but I only use the small U chisel for the beard, the rest is done with the knives.

Jealous Tony, first class work there mate.
In the layby right next to where I am working at the moment is a chainsaw woodcarver. Had him make something for the good lady ready for Christmas.
Had a good chat with him whilst I was there, gained a good insight into his history, work and day to day living. Had his van all kitted out with wood burner etc. They really can't afford to put that much detail on the carvings these days as the items won't sell for what they are worth. Sign of the times again eh?
