I coul;dn't see a thread running on "Best Stores / Good Service" so I'll kick off with...
RVoPs (http://www.rvops.co.uk/)
You may have seen some of their videos on YouTube. Those vary from hilarious (T shirt folding) through to Don't watch this on a full stomach (blood clotting agents)
Great service from Andy and his team

www.backpackinglight.co.uk - they always follow up each order with a call to see if you're happy and I've twice been sent little gifts with my orders (stowaway collapsible bags - perfect for tinder collecting on the trail).

Agreed!
Also, I know SRoM's shop is very pricey, but their delivery and after sales is second to none.

Come come gentlemen. I'm amazed you haven't mentioned Endicotts (http://www.endicotts.co.uk) in Exeter. Probably the best surplus store in the world, with possibly the worst website. ;)

Fantastic store, they just need to catch up and get with the online store program. I'm pretty sure their sales will rocket.

Alpkit (http://www.alpkit.com)
DD Hammocks (http://www.ddhammocks.com/)
A somewhat underrated Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk) also should get a mention, some of the books that you can get at reasonable prices would be a nightmare to try and get without them.
Tooled-Up (http://www.tooled-up.com/) should not be written off as some of the tools they have (cutting type) are at a very good price.
Miles Stair's Survival shop (http://www.endtimesreport.com/survival_shop.html), not the cheapest, but not far off, the service is very good and Miles is a gent if you need to get in touch (I did when Royal mail held my goods for 3 weeks without informing me).
I have loads of others, but alas not much time,
Leon.

Amazon can have some good stuff (Tatonka stoves etc) and Second Front in Peterborough. But he isnt on interweb. Also Allkit in same town. Good personal service in both. Constantly changing stock. Second Front has a lot of nice knives.........

Hi all I wrote to Craghoppers and complained about a delivery and I got a very helpful service and a partial refund and got to keep the item. I think they were very fair :)

Theres a few sites I like:-
lakelandbushcraft.co.uk/
thebushcraftstore.co.uk (thebushcraftstore.co.uk/index.asp)
heinnie.com (heinnie.com/default.asp?)
And although endicotts site is so bad, I think that's half the charm.

I've ordered a few times from Backpackinglight.co.uk (http://www.backpackinglight.co.uk)now. Goods are always dispached quickly, packed well, of good quality and there's normally a little extra present in the package for my daughter as well.
Not only this, but they always follow up with phone call a couple of days later to make sure the goods turned up and are OK.

I had a few a couple of dealings with militarymart in the last month, excellent service and very swift delivery I was very impressed with them. Also had very happy results from woodlore.

Scandinavian Outdoors (http://www.scandinavianoutdoorstore.com/en/) just went right to the top of my best list. Bought a Fjallraven Jacket of them and found it didn't fit so I sent it back. They sent me one that fits and through in some free Nikwax Wax and Nikwax Wash. A lot cheaper than buying the Fjallraven stuff here as well. Top marks. :)

Not really the cheapest but a good honest local store that can't help you enough.
I know that if there are any issues it will get sorted, the advice is relevant and not biased towards any manufacturer or price range.
They hold a reasonable and varied stock for family camping and those that want to rough it a little.
And they support local youth groups with a little discount aswell.
http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/ - Quick delivery/never had an issue with them.

I noticed the other day that my Hammock would not open correctly on the one side (the zip seemed to have been sown in or to close). I sent DD Tarps/Hammocks an email last night and had a responce first thing this morning :) The Hammock is now in the post to them and they have said they will get a replacement to me in time for the RV and refund my postage :)
Thats a decent service I think :)

Woodlore and Heinnie are certainly 2 of the very best to deal with.
Dave
PS - Editted to add - Amazon is pretty good too.

Rather look at the lucky side, it hasn't cost me anything but inconvenience and that I can live with. Why is it they push people into using plastic rather than cash but its always technology that is the weakest link?

KAK!!! Its happened to 2 of my mates recently. Even if its all sorted by your bank, its still a stressout that's not needed.
