Lavvu/Tipi

I am thinking about a new Lavvu. I like the look of the Bergans Lavvu M from Ray Mears at £365 or the Helsport Kongsvold from Outdoorfair at approx £300. I would love a Tentipi, but can't justify the expense. I have a Frontier stove to put inside as a basecamp setup.

Any experiences/preferences?

God forbid the wife sees this forum, she won't believe the stuff I am ordering at the moment!

I like Tipi's but don't like the amount of usable space you loose because of the slopping sides (and its a lot of lost space). Just my personal view but I'd go for a Bell tent as a basecamp setup.

You know I've looked at the Bell tents, and you are right about the more useable space. One thing really troubles me though with them. They don't come in dark green!:(

it says green bell tents coming soon,worth a look...i have been thinking about this set up myself for a while now,we have the caravan but still end up sleeping in the awning lol

Thanks, I will keep an eye on this, I've always wondered why they havn't done green!

I have a 7 man (I think) Helsport Lavvu. Its a great tent anbd I would recommend them.
