If you want a military style there is the Lowe Alpine packs which have adjustable back systems or the Berghaus Vulcan which comes in four sizes to fit differing back lengths.

Go to a camping shop and get measured for a bergan and then try them on with some weight packed into them, any good camping shop will help you with this, also if you find one that you like you can look on line to see if you can get it any cheaper.

I have my old long back Bergen but find some of the more modern civvy type kit to be far more comfortable, especially with some of the fancy adjustable features and as was said above; find one you like then have a butchers over the interweb.

honestly i cant fault my 120 liter bergen and at 25 quid it was a steel, you could look for that thread and read through, was very helpful for me and many suggestions on different packs etc as alternatives to a military one

cheers
