Chippy

Hi Everyone. Looks like I missed this "Introduce Yourself" section on the forum. I just went straight to the Meets and Gatherings section, sorry.
I'll do it properly this time.
My name is Greg "Chippy" O'Keeffe. I am a 35 year old (I still think I'm 33 for some reason) carpenter from Dingle, South West of Ireland. I have recently moved to North London with my wife and 16 month old son. I like mountain biking and hill walking and of course Bushcraft and camping. I took interest in Bushcraft about 3 years ago but am still at a basic level as I take my time with things...(and I have a woeful memory!)
I have done a few things such as make fire using the bow and drill method(in my back yard...not in the wilderness as of yet. I have done overnight collecting Birch Sap. I have made cordage with willow-bark. I have carved spoons, spatulas and salad cutlery from Aspen. I have made charcloth and feather-sticks.....things like that.
I would love to be able to identify wild foods better and learn/practice shelter-building. So I am very excited to know that there are plenty of people on this forum with similar interests. I look forward to eventually meet up with The Breakfast Club and others. It looks like I will miss the first meet of the year due to family commitments but would love to hear of any other frequent outings in or around the area.
Hope to meet soon.
All the best.
