FIRETHINS! A bit like mint thins but HOTTER!

We’ve all been caught out now and then with no dry tinder to be found or the need for a quick emergency fire for that all important brew! Well here’s an economical, waterproof, lightweight and conveniently small solution to the problem! FIRETHINS!

Keep a couple of FIRETHINS in your outdoor jacket pocket, cooking kit or in the unused nooks and crevices of your Bergen for when such an emergency situation beckons! Within seconds you’ll have the basis of a roaring fire or you could just use the FIRETHIN as a stand alone heat source for your stove.

You don’t even have to use a full one! A few shavings are usually enough to get your fire going quickly and they are easily lit with a ferro rod, matches or lighter. Use what you need and save the rest for later!

Edit: These things don't half burn well. They take a spark and come individually wrapped which makes them waterproof. Ideal for your tinder kit and weigh next to nothing.

Well worth a fiver if anybody else is interested.

Got mine too! They are excellent! So far every one ive tried has lit first go with a ferro rod and i've only had to use a few shavings off one so they look like they will last a long time. Thought i'd try a little experiment so took one out of packet and put it in some water. took it out and shaved some off and it still lit first go!

Gonna let my lad have a go with his new ferro rod and see if he can manage as easily but i'm sure he will. I'll try and put a vid or pics of it on if i can work out how to lol!

I couple of fat envelopes stuffed with firethins dropped through the letterbox earlier, and I have to say I'm really impressed!

I like the fact that they can be scraped to shavings so easily, and then take a spark very, very quickly. Plus they are much more compact than most regular fire lighters, so stuffing a few in a pocket is easy. I'm glad I ordered two lots - I haven't stopped playing with them yet, and I haven't even been outdoors! Top Marks, thanks SylvanBilly.

Thanks Woody, im glad your happy with them, they are pritty special, very handy to have in your fire starting kit, no matter how you start a fire, you need to have means to start one when you need to. then once warm and dry, you can practice starting fires with other means. appriciate your feed back
