Going from the article over on Ravenlore, I just picked this up as a new bushcraft daysack.
Its a German mountain rucksack.
I added the patch on the flap and changed out the drawstring for some parachute cord.

So far it seems like a cracking little pack, every bit as good as Wayland said it was. :)

I traded into this one, but they are about $35 here in the US.
It really is about ideal.
Had an expensive 5.11 pack I used before, and I honestly like this better.
Looks like Endicotts has them for between 10 and 20 quid depending on condition, I'd spring for the super grade personaly.

Here's a good aricle about the rucksack, its what prompted me to get one in the first place.

I never even considered this style of backpack, but this one looks awesome, really well made

Yes, it is very well made, I have been using it off and on for the last year and it has shown no wear or strain at the seams.
My only complaint is that it will not carry as much weight comfortably as a pack with modern suspension, however as a daysack or light overnight bag it is perfectly fine, and I have my Eberlestock Halftrack for any heavier loads.
All in all, it is a great choice if you like traditional pack designs, and will be carrying a light load.
