I've been advised by my physio to try orthotic insoles. Long story short, high contact sports isn't knee friendly. I was wondering if anyone uses Sole insoles, and if so are they worth it.

I use superfeet insoles in all my boots and shoes - well worth the investment

When going for physio I was advised to stay well away from them but that was for a back injury rather than knee. Always best just to take the advice of the professionals

So what do you do if you have back AND knee issues ?

My physioterrorist advised insoles for my knees...thats why i wear them....because i sorted out my knees it sorted my posture..which in turn helps my back injury....

You cook them in the oven then put them in the boot where they then mould to your feet, bit weird when you first start working with them but you soon get used to them and even after around a 20mile walk feet felt fine.T^

The idea of diy custom orthotics does appeal to me. I had a pair made, but they tore the inside out of my work boots. As you can appreciate the sole ones won't kill my leather lined Lowas. Is there any deformation after you've moulded them, due to foot heat. Kind of the same reason I used to use 2 gum shields as one warped out with my body heat. Shug

I don't believe so as you can just wear them and they will mould to your feet in the end, the oven treatment just speeds up the process so I believe.

been using superfeet in both day to day shoes and hiking boots for over 6 years now, never had a pair wreck my boots or shoes. What you would need to do is get them professionally fitted whatever you decide
