Hammock pod on the cheap

Despite the mucky weather I decided to try out as close to an under quilt as I could get without buying one (in the garden). I ended up with a pod but oh well. What I done was use an old rectangular bag and slide it over my hammock. Safe to say it worked out well. Just putting it out there as an option so you can try before you buy.

What rating/GSM was the bag mate? I've also been planning to do this as I don't fancy buying one!

It was an old 2/3 season bag. The great bit is you can always add to it. If I fancy more under insulation I can put my clothes in the space bellow. Plus I can still use a normal bag if it's ultra cold as the hammock works as normal, just has a huge insulated bubble around it.

Yeah that's what I like about the idea too. In a pinch you could even fill it with natural insulation too :)

I made one with a survival blanket inside. worked a treat last weekend.

I'll try and get some. It's basically just a rectangular bag pulled over the hammock and synched up at your neck. Basically the same but the bag on the outside. Where it gets interesting is that it can be tweaked so much more easier and the loft doesn't get crushed down meaning a cold backside.
