What cordage do you use for your ridgeline and guys.

At the moment I'm using something far too thick for the ridgeline and cheap guyline for tarp corners. There is 100 metres of Webtex 3mm paracord online for just under a tenner, post free.

Is this thick enough to last.

BUY IT T^
I got that when I first started out & it works a treat, whit 100m of the stuff you can do all those little projects you'll be wanting to do.
After a couple of years you'll have a better idea of what you want, then get your self some 550 para cord for the most important items.
My tarp ridge lines & tie outs are now yellow 550 cord, mainly because I can spot them better in the dark & not trip up over them :ashamed:
I still have hanks of the stuff & am thinking of getting another roll

Only problem with it is that oaracord is like a spunge in rain. So may replace it with something else in the future. But it's strong and it works.

550 paracord for ridgeline and guylines, though I may pick up some shock cord as a replacement for the guylines...as Rune mentioned, paracord stretches too much in the rain.

Its a bit coarser than the US stuff but its good and strong and good value, I use it mesen for all camp stuff but the US gear for bracelets etc, Ken

I use paracord for most things and I have it on both of my tarps.

550 or pet 7 for my tarp, and my hammock is up with amsteel. To be honest I though recon bank line might even do, but I don't know how well and don't want to loose my tarp. I might test it with a ratchet winch to see how tight I can get it before it snaps, I'd say probably enough.

Only ever used camo 550. Never had a need to consider anything else really.
...If it isn't broke ;)

The only beef I have is that it sucks up water, and becomes heavy. I hate to pack away kit wet. But on the other hand, I would have to hang the tarp up to dry at home anayway....

Para cord tried and tested since birth! Bank line is good though; in the past I've tended to braid it for extra strength and importantly, visibility!! Saying that, garden jute is quite strong when braided and no great shakes if lost or snapped...
