Howdy all
Ok here's a very quick review of the Highlander meths stove, trangia copy

Out the packet, I was unimpressed. I paid only £7 plus postage on this so wasn't hoping for too much. It feels very light, thin and frankly cheapy

Comes with a screw cap that has a rubber seal fitted inside. Seems to have a deep well in the centre, when I put 50ml in for the burn test it was barely a quarter the ways up so I'm sure it will have a good length of burn time for cooking up grub.
So with 50ml in the pot, I struck some sparks into it and set it going. I let it warm up for 1 minute and then stacked my crusader mug with 500ml of water in for the brew test.

All in it took 11 minutes to get a rolling boil. This I will put down to my home made wind shield and pot hanger being too high up from the flame I guess, mods being done today with a further test to come.
Now the 50ml burnt very well for just a hair of 25 mins before it went out. Not bad I don't think and it's surprised me a lot.
I tested the seal for any leakage and found it does weep so recommended keeping it well wrapped.
Ok so to say I paid cheap I am more than happy with this. Some adjustments to make to my set up will no doubt make it be a touch more efficient and reduce the boil time down. Doesn't smell like a hexi burner, very cheap to run, £3 a litre, and very light. So for me it's ideal for the cooking and brews on the stomp, I used to rely on open fire for all cooking and struggled and went thirsty on my last outing. Never again.
If you haven't got one, I do recommend it's a tenner, well spent.
Opinions of this versus the real trangia welcome.
Many thanks
