Though Ive touched on this subject before.I have just got around to reading next weeks special offers from MAKRO,A pot 200g,was 59p,its now increased to 75p,(still much cheaper than the camping shops.)
Their spec offer is 3 for 2,"chaffing burning Fuel,3.5hrs,200g..for £1.50p.I use them for a quick brew rather than Hexamin.Vapours a lot safer too!

UPDATE!!Just been to Makro an got a 3 for 2 offer,but whilst there I noticed a new addition,4kilo Bio ethonal gel,in a tub,for £9.99.If your a Gel user!!!,this must be the bargain of the year???

Excellent. Just be careful with that stuff like alcohol jelly we used it in the Forces referred to it as a 'Tommy Cooker' spill it in a confined space & your cooked :campfire:

I found a Bengazi burner a lot more dangerous.

FYI, you can use a kelly kettle in benghazi mode :campfire:11999 This is the Thermette, std issue to the New Zealand army during WW2 and onwards and was sometimes used Benghazi style getting it the nickname of benghazi boiler. They still make these incidently

Not recomended though ! they are now made in china and the quality is allegedly pretty poor according to one guy on song of the paddle, but that was 2008 things may have improved

I'll stick to our Kelly - just wish I'd bought the stainless steel version in hindsight. It gets used everyday and it's certainly earned its keep
