Two years ago I helped Bushcraft & Survival Skills Magazine on their base that they did at an Explorer camp called Gilwell 24 which is near Chigwell, Essex. They had been invited to cover Bear Grylls being made Chief Scout there and I was drafted in to help.
The next year I was asked to organise it and we had a great base...so this year I am putting this thread up to show folk that there is a place for bushcraft in Scouting and to see if, by chance, there are any bushcrafting Scouters (or is that Scouting buschrafters-Discuss;)) on here who are interested in joining the team this year.
It is on 9th July and is held in a tree shrouded fire circle under a parachute and I have some allocated places spare on a first come first served basis (although anticipating a rush is probably slightly delusional on my part).
Sorry, but anyone interested must be a member of the Scout Association
