Good after all,

With some great help on here just to name a couple Robdjon and David_JAFO I am now planning to hand make a small leather pouch for my flint and steel kit maybe something like this http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/01/4asy2e6y.jpg but every where I look to get a small amount of leather it's to much for what I need. Does anyone know of somewhere I can get a small bit or maybe off cuts.

Any help would be very great-full.

You want some one who's just pulled a sofa apart Bud.

Pop down to the Sali Army,Furniture depot in your area,n skin any leather chair or settee they've rejected or thrown out.The back of the chair usually is good n unworn, even if the rest is torn n worn!!
Or just keep your eyes peeled whilst driving around for one "dumped.Keep a "Stanley knife" handy.even if its wet n muddy,It'll dry out n clean up ok.Best of luck.

What others have said.
You could also try boot fairs for leather cushions, or leather jackets, or even handbags.
That kind of thing.

Find you local Abakan store. They sell it by the kilo from factory rejects and skinned sofas. It's about £12 per kilo but that can be a whole lot of leather and there's often 3/4 kilo of the same colour and grade in there so you'll have enough of the same type to make all your projects and pouches match :).
For little possibles I used to use leather jackets from the bootie and make them all slightly different colours. That way after some time using them you will remember which bags hold different things. Now I use fake pandora toggles on the closing thongs to tell them apart.
Whilst you're there you can pick up your leather needles and some good strong linen thread too ;)

That's a good resource to know, cheers for that. Tbh marks and stuff only add to the character of any leather item.
