Mrs Whistle spent quite a few ££'s on "Bee Hotels" from the garden centre ...

Placed them according to instructions ... and they have never been used !!!

Yet a ratty old bird box that has seen better days has been colonised by

White Tailed Bumbles two years running ... Nature !!! Go figure hey !?!?

I went on a really good workshop with the bumblebee conservation trust recently.
They're getting people to do "bee walks"; you choose a transect, walk it every month and record numbers and species of bumblebees. There is some really useful data being gathered through the scheme regarding population numbers and dispersal. Here's a link if anyone fancies getting involved.
