Hi Guys,

I bought one of these a while back and swear by them and went and bought the neoprene 'cocoon' as well. After much squashing and squeezing into (small) packs, I thought I'd add a bit of extra protection around the outside to stop cracking/breaking the glass.

I took a bit of old roll mat and some gaffa tape and behold...I give you the UCO Fletched 3000 Turbo Armageddon Protection Tube™.

Makes it bit bigger to pack, but it's gonna save money in the long run as I'm quite rough with my packs and they get thrown about in airport terminals etc...

Nice one!

I have a few UCOs. I am quite fond of them.

Would that work with out the neoprene inner? I got a UCO but I didn't get cocoon.

Yep, makes the coccoon a bit redundant apart from the fact it keeps the chain and hanging bracket from hanging out, but you could cut and tape a couple of circular roll mat pieces to fit each end to sort this.

Of course, if you modify the UCO Fletched 3000 Turbo Armageddon Protection Tube™, royalty cheques should be sent to my offshore account #4088875364 in the Cayman Islands...

*** IMPORTANT UPDATE ***

The UCO Fletched 3000 Turbo Armageddon Protection Tube™ also fits a beer can perfectly.

Now that's a good dual purpose kit mod eh? ;)

Well, I just had to do it.

I had some veg tanned deerskin left over, so I thought I'd 'pimp' the UCO mod.

I give you [insert drum roll here]...the UCO Fletched 3000 Turbo Armageddon Protection Tube (Deluxe Bushcrafter Version)™. :)

There's an extra bit of (roll mat) padding at the bottom and the top - which has the swing bracket, so not so damageable - is protected by the leather pulled together when tied.
