Hi there, I'm looking for some ash laths to make a coracle - I'm having a hard time in finding anything suitable as most commercial sawmills/timber yards equipments is too big and bulky to cut anything fine enough.
Do any of you have any ideas where I could find some?

Any flexible, strong saplings will work. ;) Willow, hazel, alder...

Thanks guys, yes it was his thread that brought me to this forum. However I'm trying to make one from flat laths rather than weaving. Although I do plan on making a willow coracle in the future. aerials for this will be far easier to source!!

Try to find a tree surgeon that will cut you a long knot free trunk and split it yourself while it green.

I don't think I'd be able to split it evenly I'm afraid. Most 8ft laths are sawn I believe.
