Always check Ebay. A lot of retailers have stopped carrying ration packs; something to do with there not being a sell by date on the pack or contents

Yeah Steve I agree had me laughing too, these days who would be seen dead with a regular camo Ipad cover. Mine is Realtree. Some people just don't keep up with what's cool.

Hey dudes, rations just arrived (Ordered monday, issue with them running out of some meal types, they called me to resolve it - they just switched them out for other meals), Each comes in a box, inside each box the meals are in sealed foil packs and the sundries are in a plastic sealing bag. pretty good so far - will report on how good they are after camping
Hexamine arrived in wax sealed cardboard boxes, safety matches in plastic bags... all in all pretty good!

Report!
Rations - Boil in the bag meals - not the worst things I have ever eaten. Definetely light and convenient though. Sundries were pretty good but be aware sometimes you dont get exactly what you ordered (i didnt get tissues, but i got energy tablets, I think the woman on the phone may have mentioned this). All in all pretty solid. Only complaints: Hexamine tablets smelled a bit "fishy" and weren't as clean burning as the highlander ones; The whitener is just plain nasty.

Oh yeah, and the rations should be supplemented by other stuff if you are particularly active... We had a fair slog in the cold this weekend and I ate the whole pack plus bannock....

Hi guys,
I just stumbled across this forum after doing a bit of research and thought I'd say hello. I'm from SOTFS and glad you're liking the ration packs and that they're doing the trick for you. It's nice to find ways we can improve our products and whatnot as well.
Shame you don't like the iPad holders so much ;)! Funnily enough though, people have actually been ordering these - Walkers, campers, not too sure about any military folk though and I didn't see that article on the Newsbeat site so thanks for that comanighttrain :).
Any suggestions or ideas please feel free to let us know! We're currently putting the "Build Your Own Ration Pack" feature back in if that interests you too.

Hi Tom!
I mentioned to one of your guys (Owen) about putting the kcal value of the food on the page - this is an important one. I nearly didn't order because of this but due to a prompt email reply I did :D. I actually emailed again at the start of the week about the kcal value of individual meals as I was going to buy those and throw them together myself so its good to see you are putting a "Build Your Own Ration Pack" feature in :). Another advantage of the "Build Your Own Ration Pack" feature is that you could put more food in - which I found I needed in last weeks particularly harsh weather. Yet another is that water purification tablets would be necessary in some environments but not in others so one may need to add them in... sure you could buy them seperate but there is convinience in having it all come in neat boxes.
Another thing would be for you guys to look into freeze dried products - wet meals are great but they have a weight penalty.
Also possibly look into extending your breakfast range - something oaty and sweet can be more appealing than something greasy (sometimes...grease is great in cold weather)
Lastly, your website looks a little generic...this can be off putting because, unfortunately, a lot of Scammers use similar layouts so im guessing its a generic software package. If you personalised your site a but more, put more info on it and suchlike you will certainly get more trade as people will feel more comfortable buying from you.
All that considered, You are currently the best price, cover most of the bases and, most importantly, have good customer service which is why I will buy again from you in the future.

Thanks for your comments! I think I can see your e-mail here and will be sure to get back to you on it this afternoon :)
With the "Build Your Own" feature you will be able to put in as much as you like, there aren't really any limits at the moment as what we do currently have in stock there's plenty of. We haven't thought about the freeze dried products before so that's definitely something we will have to look into, and I know we used to do oaty breakfasts but I believe we're out of stock at the moment.
I hear you on the website, and it was just meant to be a temporary measure until we got the new site developed as we had problems with the version before it but it has taken a little longer than expected. Either way, this is being taken care of and will have a new site going live soon! Very glad you're pleased with everything thus far.
Steve - Most of it is end of 2012 but I unpacked a new delivery earlier on in the week that ranged from Aug - Nov 2013.
Hope this is helpful, thanks again!

Originally produced as part of a contract for the Shah of Iran in the late 1970s, these Mars Bars were never delivered and, instead, made their way into Compo 24 hour packs where they were to be found well into the early 90s, by which time they had developed an outer layer of fine white powder
- and if you or your dog want white dumps, you have to eat more bones according to the Little Book of Poo (I'll check the title later :D )
