Hi there,
Just signed up to the website. I'm located just outside Bala in Snowdonia so well placed for wild camping adventures ;-) - looking forward to chewing the fat around all things bushcrafty!
All the best for now http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/images/icons/icon12.png

Cheers Ehecatl, hows Leicestershire these days? (I'm originally from Shepshed) not been back for a while. I remember camping out in the Bradgate Park area so so many years ago lol.

I'm enjoying Leicestershire and will have been here a year next month. I'm really hoping to see Bradgate park with a dusting of snow this winter. I'm still looking for a permission locally to me.

Good stuff, there's also Swithland Woods & Beacon Hill but its been years since I've been around that area.
I've got a mate who works for the National Trust in Leicestershire I'll ask him if he knows of any locations.

S'mae OakAsh - though thats almost the extent of my Welsh unfortunately! - I've 3 kids all under 10 and they're completely fluent along with the wife (almost) - its quite strange to live in a house with all of them conversing and I have no idea what they're talking about lol. I'm really looking forward to their teenage years, somehow I think they'll be conspiring in Welsh so might need to brush up on it!
No prob's Ehecatl will follow up over the weekend with him & let you know :)

That's excellent :). The same revival is occurring in Ireland, where Gaeilge is a required language course in most schools. Many folks in the States have also kept the flame alive...I was fortunate to have a wonderful tutor who studied in Connemara. Now most of my focus is on Ulaidh regional dialect, in particular Gaoth Dobhair. I still have a lot to learn before I would consider myself fluent. As for Welsh, the farthest I ever got was the pronunciation :p.

That is really impressive OakAsh, variety is the spice of life right ;-)
I work a lot in Czech Republic (Prague) and those guys find it incredible that here in Bala the first language is not English - funny, we listened to Google Translate for a short Welsh sentence this when there last and it bears not even a close sound to how it should be said, according to my wife that is as I'm hardly in a position to say lol.

I could do better if I moved to Ireland and studied in-depth in a Gaeltacht...the best way to learn any language is to pick up the jargon of the natives ;). I've found that the audio translations are closer to what a psychotic robot would say :p.
