I recently bought this strop..

I was wondering, which side should I strop my knife on? Or can I use both sides?

Thanks.

Not sure from the picture but I think it'll be the suede side.

Forgive my ignorance, but would that be the hard or fibrous side?

The fibrous side :)

A leather belt blank off evil bay would of been half the price.
Use the "fibrous" side for most stropping(a polishing compound helps e.g. Autosol metal polish)and the shiny side to finish a razors edge(no metal polish and be gentle with the edge).

Start with the flesh side Finnish on the grain side. Do 100 passes on each side of the strop. I then use a newspaper and strop on that. I do enjoy stropping knives, I live a sad life I know.... ATB Shug
