How do you wash a polyester filled sleeping bag?
Can you stick it in the washing machine?
Looking at the label suggests you can, but I can never remember what ones you should stick in the washing machine and what ones you shouldn't.
Is it OK to put a polyester-filled bag in the washing machine?

I went for it.
The bag came out fine and is now on the rotary line drying out. I think that will take a while in this weather...

Yep, my wife often washes ours after they've been used a few times. It is nicer to get into a clean sleeping bag. :)
If I turn my back on something in the house it'll be in the sink or washing machine by the time I reach for it again. Those friggin' gnomes! ;)

Gentle cycle, mild soap/detergent, cool water, and hang it out to dry ;).

Yeah, that's pretty much what I did - put it on at 30, just a little detergent, and gave it an extra rinse cycle afterwards.
Smells nice and fresh now, and nearly dry! Think I'll keep it out for a few days though, just to ensure it dries properly.

Most polyester sleeping bags can be put in the washing machine but do not put them on a fast spin dry, then hang it up to dry naturally, after I wash my bags and dry they are rolled up loose an stored away as I cannot leave the hanging up, I have military and civvy sleeping bags and they are all washed the same.

I don't very like washing my sleeping bag, not because i'm a dirty man lol, because it damage it a little.
What i prefer to do is leaving my sleeping bag open in front of a large sun. Solar radiations kill bacteria and clean properly. It's even better when the weather is windy.
Of course, sometimes i wash it into the machine haha, but i try to make it the least possible.
