We may a problem with future meets in Romford. The landowner Mr. Smoothy, a very nice man passed away just after Xmas. I only found this this morning from a chap walking his dog through the woods.

That's sad, never got to meet him but grateful to him for the wood, I hope his family are of the same mindset.
Good news every body. Iv spoken to mrs smoothy today. She has extended her late husbands offer of use of the land. Plus the old g#t that ran the shoot has stepped down. Thank the above that I personally know the new shoot manager/game keeper. Things are back to normal. I think we should as a group chip in and buy her a big bunch of flowers to say thank you and sorry.

So by my reckoning that's £5 Sat breaky + £5 Sat evening meal + £5 Sun breaky = £15 + the flowers (plus over fed bushcrafters). Am I correct?
Mark ~ I'll be there before you ~ (not exactly sure when just yet) but if you give me a tinkle on arrival (or as you leave your pad), I'll walk up with by bergen emptied and help cart some kit over. I'll chivvy up some of the others if I can wake them. :happy-clapping:

The broken chair incident..... Alan sat in Paul's chair briefly and it sagged. Alan and me re-strung it and made it worse by which time Paul had returned. We'd done a poor job and made it worse. The air turned blue and Mark came to the rescue. To be honest his criticism regarding our knots was bang on, but it was late, we were tired and rather "socially confused". Paul sat in his newly strung chair and the rear leg promptly snapped. The air turned blue again but no one heard above the howls of laughter.
