Found another possibility, but its not a combo.

Again thoughts and opinions are very welcome.

These are Finnish Kauko Raatiniemi knives. I have a few of those myself. These knives are excellent value for money.
I believe the blades to be Lauri blades. Though I am not sure.
I gave my fiancee the exact same combo for christmas '09. She is quite fond of it and uses it as her main knives for camping and scouting.

Had a couple of these but the blade is quite thin so not so good for battening etc but keep anice and sharp edge.
Save up another 40 or 50 quid and get one of these good all rounders

A Wright and sons, sheffield. You can usually pick them up for about £109 on the web.

Bit of thread jackin going on here. lol
I have used my Kauko/Lauri blades for battoning several times. No problems at all.
The blades are thinner than the classic woodlore clone. But, compared to other classic scandi knives, the blade is actually of average thickness.
I have no reason to believe that these blades won't take a fair beating.

RobbC, I have that exact set. having two diff size blades is surprisingly handy. The sheath/elf condom is a nice touch and is plenty tight to stop your blades falling down if it gets turned upside down. I recommend...
