Hi I have recently bought the crusader bcb mk2 and picked up two crusader mk1 mugs and a water bottle that is slightly smaller than the one that comes with the mk2 and swapped it so now I can have the mk2 stove and mug and have the stainless steel mug from the mk1. Instead of the plastic one that it comes with which I like so I have another way of cooking/boiling water :) if anyone has the mk2 I would suggest doing this because it is very beneficial :) and the mk1 mug is really good thing to have with you because it is very strong and a decent size :) anyone got any modifications they have done with your stove ?
Thanks tom.

hello,
One of my original issue Gulf War I *Operation Granby teflon mugs & plastic lip guard fits inside the original Woodland patt US water bottle carrier I blagged a load of these water bottles & other kit 1990 from the Spams stores in Saudi :innocent: still in mint condition, the original US green water bottles I replaced with British 58 patt. I was given a couple of these BCB cook sets 2014. I have a couple of custom made different trivets that fit across the BCB unit for brewing up & cooking etc..
Regards
David

I have a question does the new mk2 cooker fit with the mk1 cup?

I am going to say no but it can sort of be placed on I'll show you with a picture

Correction it can but the stove is wider so the flames won't be being used at their full advantage and the arms of the mug get in the way a little

Thank you for replying so quickly Tom, that has answered my question and I can see from the photo that I would not be able to store it all on the bottom of the mug in the pouch.

It's okay :) I'm glad to help , what I have done is got a smaller bottle and swapped the mk2 plastic mug for the mk1 mug like thishttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/16/096a232989fe40443ec43c04b396825c.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/16/541e728fc7e4d068f2aa52d38df8ad7b.jpg
I know it looks a bit silly but it just abouts fits in the mk2 pouch

Cheers Tom I think I will have to stick with the old faithfull, hopefully they will make a mk3 cooker that will fit the mk1 mug so it will all still fit in the pouch.

I have had my mk1 mug for many years and wont replace it with a new one, I also have a spare mk1 mug (just in case) I made a lid for my mug out of a ally mess tin and then bought the ss version which is heavy I have now acquired some thin ss sheet and will at some time make another lid, I did not like the mk1 cooker so that is somewhere in one of many boxes in my garage.

That was a bargain, I think it was Bernie on here who posted how to make a lid for the BCB mug on here and its very interesting wish I had seen it before I made my lid.

Tom I found it, it was Tigger004 that made the lid and Bernie did a full write up with pictures to show how he did it, look for Tiggers Crusader lid.

hello,
Sorry about that Tom. TBH with you it's not something I do a lot of photographing my Bushcraft kit :ashamed: I have the odd picture I maybe need to start doing so for the forum on a regular basis.

David

Hello Tom - have you had the MK2 on the open fire/coals - does it stand up ok? I've been thinking of getting the MK2 system but was thinking that the MK1 cup was more bomb-proof?
