Hello all.
I saw someone make a nock in a hazel rod recently but didn't quite catch how he did it. He cut two notches opposite each other, then lower down he made two cuts on the other two opposites, if that makes sense.
then he did some bending and broke off the end of the stick, leaving a nock. does this mean anything to you all and does it have a name I can put into Google?
atb Luke.

Ray Mears shows how to cut a stick to make a pot hanger if that is of any help to you.

It wasn't for a pot hanger specifically. It literally made a nock like you would put on an arrowhead but on a larger scale.

Found it.
It's a spear nock, as described by Mors Korchansnky, http://www.karamat.com/trystick.pdf
