Hello all.
I've just had half a question put to me by my good lady. It goes 'Has it ever occurred to you sometimes I might have had enough of wandering round the woods? I like Bushcraft but.....can't I do something womanly and Bushcrafty?'(don't ask me, I've no idea!).
Not wishing to offend her by suggesting stereotypically feminine things I'm a little lost as to what to suggest.
Anything like 'how about a clay oven lover?' or 'natural dyes for those fleeces that're coming' all sound a bit like 'get back in the kitchen love!'.
Answers from Men and 'Bushcraft Widows' welcome........please!:ashamed:

In more traditional tribal communities (and historically here) the woman's role was the "bushcrafty" creative campsite fiddling one. The men were out hunting for meat while they were doing all this, so it can't be far from the natural inclination of things, for her to find something she connects with (in a sort of timeless primeaval way). Unfortunately modern living has distorted everyone's perception of what they think are "satisfying activities".
Take her to one of those medieval craft days and looks for a spark of enthusiasm. Bloody hell mate, at least she's out doing it with you, my millston...err..good lady wife shows no interest at all (unless I make her an impromptu brew on a picnic!).

Is she? I don't think she is to be honest bud?
Whittling small projects like spoons? Perhaps show her some pictures of nice ones with detail if she's arty/creative and show her how to use a carving knife & crook knife?
Bit of Tracking? or Plant-ID?... Depends on the person really and like it's been said; how modern-living has moulded their interests.

ahh soz ash i thought that was youre girl in some vids
In my experience women are just as good as blokes at bushcraft if not better at some things, wild foods, carving, i had 3 ladies on a course build a top shelter best ive seen in a long while, id say specialise in a connected subject say flora ID, tracking and fungi thats enough to keep you busy for the rest of your days! ;)
just read Ash's post great minds n all that lol ;)

I'd bought 100ft of paracord and I was trying to think of a way to carry it with me without noticing it (I hate unnecessarily cutting cord). My wife suggested, and made a belt for me. All I have to do is undo one knot and pull...100 ft of paracord or as much as I need. She's brill.... Will try to do a vid of how she did it for you. It's actually quite a nice belt and I now don't really want to use it as paracord lol.
