50 posts sales access

is the 50 posts before sales are allowed, set in stone ?

im here for info and knowledge too, but also need to sell my backpacking gear, and dont wanna just post-load for sake of it

Set in stone. This avoids folks just rocking up to sell as this is not a trading site. Posts are monitored so that any suspicion of people joining just for the sake of selling can be removed. The community tends to be self monitoring in that members get annoyed by threads reappearing for no real reason and us mods are asked to deal with it, which we gladly do.

Thanks for understanding Chris. It became such a problem at one stage that serious consideration was given to removing sales completely. Monitoring it became a nightmare for everyone concerned but the decision was made to leave it for a while and see how things went.
