My first ''kuksa'', made from a piece of balsam fir i harvested about 5 hours north of where i live (it doesnt grow near my house). I know balsam fir isn't the best wood for carving considering its filled with oils and can be sticky and full of knots but i just love the smell of balsam fir and wanted to bring some back home , so i decided to give it a go at making a kuksa. I know its nothing special but i've only been working with wood for a couple months now and i thought it would be a nice challenge. The tools i used were a Mora Classic, Mora 162 spoon knife , Corona folding saw and my Condor Scout Hatchet. If anybody would like to share photos of their homemade kuksa's that would be awesome as i could use some inspiration for my next one . Cheers - Boone
