That's not very nice, hopefully the person who set it is caught, looking at the snare it looks like it was set to catch a Badger.

unless you have seen a different photo to me im not sure how you can judge what it was set for... the animal will have rolled and bit attacked the sanre for some time before it died meaning we'll never know what the target species was.. the method used, in regards to how it was set over the game trail, is also commonly used for foxes... however what we will agree on is that i also hope the person is caught and at the very least goes on a snaring course as it clearly was set a touch too low for a fox, and also should have been checked long before any animal had chance to die in it, their designed to hold, not kill.

and if it was someone trying to snare rabbits, their snares are far too strong for them... clearly.. bad times :(
