you should know, you must have used one enough lol, like you say, the plastic mug goes on the top of the bottle (the original 58 pattern osprey) and the metal mug goes on the bottom inside the pouch (crusader cup and double ammo pouch usually) the crusader burner attachment fits in with your hexy stove, if its the pressed steel old style one, or over the bottom of the cup if it's the new style half-cup one

the old slr was still the best, can't beat the 7.62 damage capability. L1A1 wasn't it? And the sa wasn't really worth having, had one jam on me on exercise, when I tried to ready it the round transferred into the body of the rifle rather than the breech, some how  haha

Didnt the old slr weigh a ton? My dad always told me about it, could blow a deers head off from a mile away

It was a big and cumbersome old thing but if you hit something it wasnt getting up in a hurry :) The worst to carry was the old LMG in our lot as you where always getting sent from one flank to another :( The GPMG was heavy a beast and scarry I think never used it much tho only for shooting at a drunken old German pilot in a plane with a big flag on the back for an airial target :)

I've just bought a mug/pot hanger clip on ebay, can't wait to try it out. I didn't realise there was a thread on metal mugs :)

The MK1 SA 80 was poor in rain, snow, mud and sand. The MK2 actually worked. The mechanism is all on the right hand side of the weapon so unless you're being a bit daft and firing from the left shoulder, they are harmless.
