The wife and I managed to get away on Thursday could not do the setting up of the tarp mr`s was ill but managed to get a fire going in the wind with a ferro rod using cotton wool and vaseline put that out then tried fat wood that also worked also mad a couple of feather sticks and used them managed to cook a full meal on the fire so happy with that .
So glad we stayed in the camper as it froze hard for the three night`s mrs`s didn`t leave the van as she was very unwell but had had nice couple of walk`s with the dog managed to collect a carrier bag of silver birch bark of some fallen trees added bonus.
so that`s my first venture semi bushcrafting chuffed how my back held out just took my time with the walks due to my back injury but it was so nice to just get out into the outdoors again after nearly ten years after breaking my back .
so allready looking forward to next trip and hope to build a proper camp set up .
I know it might not sound super adventures but being disabled and every strep I take causes pain feel like I have taken a massive leap forward .
