Since I've had a pretty terrible year so far, I've decided to be a tad selfish and get myself something. So I've decided to get myself a new Air Rifle. What I would like to know is, is it worth going down the PCP route, or would Gas ram or Springer be better in the long run?

Cheers, Shug

Pcp all the way for accuracy and consitency. Springer for the convenience. If it's for hunting id always say pcp now

No problem mate. I'm actually a fairly keen airgunner so if you want any reccomendations or anything don't hesitate to ask

Pcp definitely and I can highly recommend the Walther Rotex

My local gun shop has the Air Arms s400 and the MPR in stock, how do they stack up in the long term.

Personally I'd go for a 410 (and have done) mines been going strong for 7 years. Multishots do have an advantage. AA are solid rifles and good build quality. Among the better mid range airguns

I would also say go for the multi shot. Mine is an 8 round magazine which I have three of and would never look back at single shot when hunting

I was thinking that. As I've been given a permission for woodcock it will be a huge boost if I'm decoy shooting from a hide.

I bought the Air Arms S410f in .22. It's a lovely feeling gun. Now I just have to get a decent pump for it (there was none in stock). I don't fancy a dive tank as I don't find them cost effective IMO. Now to find the pellets it likes. Luckily enough I have a range 4 miles away, so I'm going there this afternoon as I've loaned a pump for a week or two to get me started.

Cheers for all the advice guys.

Good choice there shug! The pumps don't half keep you fit! Try out RWS super H points and H&N FTT. Mine loves them

As for the tank look for a local diving center and see if there are any older ones to be had. I got a 12l stubby for about 50 quid
