Since I can't get tobacco tins where i live and the only source of small rectangular tins are Altoids, here is my entry for a leather case & tin
which contain my fire essentials. To be carried at all times on my belt.

Very cool! Like the fact is just the right size... (Small).
You should make more of these and sell them...
I'd buy one for myself.

Haha, that's OK ... You can include them in the pack... I just like the leather pouch.
How much good sir?
And would postage be extortionate?
Cheers

If you need any small tins I can likely give you a couple. I've probably got a few kicking about. I gave up smoking a couple of years ago but I keep finding tins in the house.

Trust me, it's understandable. I'm a country boy myself.

Every since i moved here away from the city I have been left behind (thankfully) and the highlight of the day is seeing wildlife in action.
Its odd some of my neighbours who have lived here all their lives can't get over the amount that I see and at first they thought that I was making it up, in point my wife saw a Fisher (predator up to about 10lbs) and did not know what it was so she looked it up on the internet and that night she put it on her blog and several of the neighbours told her that what she saw was a mink (predator up to about 2lbs) it was not until I found some prints that people then believed.
Im glad that Im being left behind its so much more relaxing here shhh don't tell everyone other wise civilization will come and find me.

It easy when you know how, bit off plywood cut over sized to allow for the leather, wet the leather and clamp in place. the hardest part is waiting for it to dry lol.

Sorry only just realised I hadn't replied to that.
Troll sweets according to a Norwegian friend of mine...
They are actually really nice, the kids tried it and were not amused.[emoji38]
Let's just say their palate hasn't quite evolved enough to appreciate these.

I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and what looks like kolrosing (carvings)intricate all around the individual sweets.
Here's a picture of a packet , although the ones I tried were in a tin, and I suspect were homemade...

Either way, they are salty and have a fennel type of taste.
Not for everyone...

hello,
Awesome pouch BTW. I have a similar leather pouch made with Doc Marten leather & logo. Tobacco tins.. Zippo lighter tins 1oz these are the same size as the Altoids tins. 2oz tins are available with the same logo.. This was a FSK I made for a BCUSA forum member. I've mailed kit out to Canada it's actually cheaper than Airmail to the USA.
Regards
David

hello Woody,
The famous Coulters Candy still produced down the Scottish Borders. It's a sugar coated candy (not toffee) sweet with a distinct flavour with a hint of aniseed. I kept the drawstring bags as one of the Bushcraft students used it for gathering tinder & as a temporary fire starter kit pouch. The pouch is made from a strong lint material could be also used shredded as a tinder. Get yer banjo oot Woody & strum away tae that fine tune.. campfire song for the bairns :p PMSL.

David
