Managed a quick overnighter in the woods with the hound and a good friend of mine. Hiked about 5 miles then Headed down a few sheep trails into the Spruce forest and came across a great little hideaway. I was using DD 3x3 tarp and bivvy and my mate was in his trusty Hoolie 2 tent. I found the 3x3 tarp to big for a solo bivvy set-up so i will probably buy the smaller solo version. Trekking back to the car on the hottest day of the year so far was an experience!

Aye, the 3x3 a bit large for bivying, but it is kind of an "all-arounder", so there will be compromise. You can construct it into different shelter configs as well as use it for hammocking, but as a bivy shelter, it is somewhat overkill. I agree that the Solo version is probably better suited for 'ya.
T^ Looks like you found a great place out there :).

IT was a great spot and the dog loved the fire, my mate was not impressed as my dog decided rather than sleeping under the tarp with me he'd squeeze into his tent and sleeping bag! Lol
LoneWalker, it's a little spot deep in the Peak District.
