My lad, aged 5 3/4 years old passed his "final exam" as a pre-schooler when his pre-school group in kindergarten climbed Hinnstein (560 m.a.s.l.) today. The entire group made up there, with no complaints, just pure determination and guts, in light drizling rain. It's the same rock I climbed after one of my surgeries 3 years ago. So lacking pics of my boys achievement (parents will get prints of pictures from staff later). There is the vid from my struggle to get up there bellow...I was about half dead when I started and in terrible shape...

Anyway the kids made it to the top, and where barbecued hotdogs over the fire was consumed. The lad was carrying a back pack, with his lunch, extra pair of dry socks, a sweater, a flask of hot cocoa, a cold drink, a beanie hat and gloves.

Bellow is the vid from my own struggle to get up there bellow...I was about half dead when I started and in terrible shape... the kids are not in this video, just me.

Well done to your son. Also a great effort by you in the video. However, at 19 minutes, I could clearly see some bacon on the floor that had escaped from the pan. Tut tut! :happy-clapping:

Keep a look out for a non stick 'flan' tin in you local kitchen supply store, they are not expensive and if you get the right size they work very well as a non stick frying pan on Trangia type stoves.

Keep a look out for a non stick 'flan' tin in you local kitchen supply store, they are not expensive and if you get the right size they work very well as a non stick frying pan on Trangia type stoves.

That was not bacon, it was salted and cured and smoked lambs leg. A norwegian specialty :-)
