The councill is building a new water mains trough our neighbourhood, so at 1600 today they close our water off for 24 hours while they connect everything.
I have filled three 25 liter containers with water just for personal hygiene, flushing toilet etc. Plus every cantine and empty soda bottle in the house for drinking and cooking. Going to be interesting to see how much water we will consume during the 24 hour cuttoff :-)

Probably can't drink the tap water for a few days after as well, until all the bugs are flushed out of the system I guess.

Don't forget to fill your pans and Dutch oven etc, you know, in case of :)

Edit, do they not have an obligation to make sure you have water, even a communal stand pipe would be better than nothing ?

There will be no water pressure in the entire system as the shut down the pump house and we are up hill from that.
They will probably provide a water tanker truck to sevr ethe area if we are without water for longer. But I can just scoot over to some friends an fill up tehre if needed :-)

Oh it's no hardship to speak of. But it will be intersting to see how the teenager takes it. And how much water we will spend :-)

We used to be on a bore hole for our water so power cut meant no water. It would happen at least once each winter without warning. Not a problem as long as your ready for it. And it's a good exercise to see how much you usually get through versus how much you actually need.
