Anyone got or had chance to look at uncle Rays new book at all? What do you think about it? Is it worth the £25 or is it just a combination of stuff from all of his other books? (Apparently you can get it for £17 on amazon now).
I don't want to fork out if it's just a rehash of earlier stuff!

From the write up it looks good.

It's a hefty book.
Of course there's some duplication, as there is with all writers in the field, but I'd say it was worth it.
But it will come down in price - as they all do after a few months (I often find them then on THe Book People)

Arrived home last nigh,t to the book behind the door.
First impressions, a substantial book. Many excellent colour pics throughout, enough new writing to warrant the publication.
Does it have the revalatory info of the early; Wiseman, Kochanski, Graves, Ray himself, etc?
Sadly no, those days are behind us.
What it does do is, reaffirm Rays and his co author Lars, love of the Northern forest. Their years of experience and dedication are what shine through.
i would simply say to anyone who admires Rays and or Lars philosophy, buy the book, you wont be disappointed.

Everso slightly:off-topic: but I've just finished reading https://www.amazon.co.uk/My-Outdoor-Life-Ray-Mears/dp/1444778196 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It certainly gives the revelatory info of the early Mears.
