Just thought I would drop in and say hi for my first post on the forum. I'm from southern New Jersey and my stomping ground is the pine barrens region of the state. I like to hunt whitetailed deer with primitive bow and muzzle loader, trout fishing, and bushcraft. Piney

Hey Piney, a very warm welcome to the NaturalBushcraft forum. One of our regular contributors was expressing an interest in New Jersey just the other day. Maybe do a search and you'll find it. If it helps, it will be the only thread in the history of the forum to include the words 'Frank' and 'Sinatra'. ;)

Hey Piney, good to hear there are some wild areas still left in the "Garden State." Welcome, from another Yank. (And a Yankees fan. Woo!)

Thank you everyone for the friendly welcomes. I always feel at ease with people that have the same interest in bushcraft. Josh southern New Jersey is a lot different from the north. We have Wharton State Forest which is 115,000 acres of pine forest, cedar swamps, open savannas, cedar colored rivers and streams, not to mention the jersey devil. I fished about 10 years in upstate NY as a kid out of Clayton on the St. Lawrence river. Nice area.

I'm right in the middle, in Syracuse. Been all over the Adirondacks hiking most of my life, mostly central and eastern, though. Just did a quick google search of Wharton State Forest and hit a couple of Flickr streams with pics. Looks like lovely country, good to see people getting out and enjoying the land.
Later!
Josh
