A great thing to know about any plant is whether its likely to live near you!
Handily for the forager, you can simply visit the online Atlas of the British and Irish flora.
This is a fantastic resource and should prevent futile searches for alexanders in the midlands, or the sea carrot on the East coast of England.

That's great. I'll have to learn a lot of botanical names though as a few local names have stumped it. Fair enough, as different counties use different traditional names. Good find..
